Anaadir Adir Govinda Sarva Karana Karanam: When A Gentleman Became an Instrument to Spread Lord Krishna’s Glories

Sometimes the Supreme Lord chooses the most unexpected moments to remind us who we really are — and who is the cause of all causes. On a regular day, a simple conversation with a gentleman turned into a beautiful opportunity to distribute the mercy of the Bhagavad Gita and remember the eternal truth from Sri Brahma Samhita (Prayers by Brahma Ji).

I offered him a copy of Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

“I am already having the Gita book and know its background through TV serials etc.,” he said.

“That’s great. So please answer a simple question. Who are you?” I asked humbly.

“I am Pankaj,” he replied.

“Any more guesses?”

“Guess…?”

“I asked who you are… actually.”

“Please come to the point,” he said.

“Read Bhagavad Gita, As It Is, and know the real truth about yourself, as you are, principally”, I humbly replied.

“I will, but what do you want from me since I told that I am already having?” he asked again.

“I want your willingness to gift this book to your loved ones for their permanent benefit”, I added.

“But I don’t know anyone to whom I can gift…”, he replied.

“Your boss to whom you may daily report! Your junior who might be reporting to you daily!! The one in your neighbourhood whom you daily greet — ‘Ram Ram Ji’!!! The list could be endless…,” I suggested.

“Today you have thought that you will certainly be giving this book to me,” he replied smilingly.

“Who am I to think… Anaadir Adir Govinda Sarva Karana Karanam (Brahma Samhita 5.1). Lord Krishna is the supreme cause of all causes,” I replied.

“You must feel lucky that you are being chosen — not by me, but by God — to become His dear by gifting this book to spread His teachings and glories”, I added.

“Hmm… (silence)… Ok done.”

Hari bol!

All glories to him for accepting the Bhagavad Gita and agreeing to spread its glories to his loved ones!

Before leaving, I also advised him to start listening to flute through various ragas in Indian Classical Music and also to start learning flute since its most dear to Lord Krishna.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada, who brought this supreme knowledge to every corner of the world so that ordinary souls like us could become instruments in Lord Krishna’s hands.

This encounter beautifully illustrates one of the deepest truths of spiritual life: Krishna is Anadi (without beginning) and Adi (the original cause). Everything — including our small decisions to give or receive a book — is ultimately arranged by Him. We may think we are the doers, but when we become willing instruments, Lord Krishna uses even our daily interactions to spread His mercy.

Pankaj’s initial hesitation (“I already have it”) is so relatable. Yet when reminded that Lord Krishna Himself was choosing him to become dear by sharing the Gita, his heart melted into “Ok done.” That is the power of remembering Lord Krishna as Sarva Karana Karanam — the cause of all causes. Even our willingness to gift a book becomes a cause for someone else’s eternal benefit.

To every reader who already owns the Gita: Consider becoming like Pankaj. Gift a copy today — to your boss, colleague, neighbour, friend, or family member. You never know whose life Lord Krishna wants to touch through your hands. The list of prospective recipients of Bhagavad Gita is actually endless when we see with the eyes of devotion.

Have you ever gifted the Bhagavad Gita and later heard how it affected someone’s life? Or felt that a small act of sharing was arranged by Lord Krishna Himself? Share your experience below — your story may become the inspiration for someone else’s “Ok done” moment today.

More real-life encounters of Lord Krishna’s causeless mercy coming soon, all weaving into a book filled with these sacred, everyday reminders that He is the Supreme Cause.

Keep distributing — or at least gifting — the Gita. Lord Krishna, the cause of all causes, is smiling through every copy that changes hands!!
